10 million lives. That’s how many were lost to cancer in 2021 alone.  Behind this staggering number are tens of millions more-brave individuals who fought and survived, their lives forever changed. Now, imagine if one of those lives was your father, mother, child, or grandparent. For us at The Ribbon Initiative, and for countless families across the world, there's no need to imagine: cancer has touched all our lives. Thanks to amazing advances in research, society has made lifesaving progress: improved chemotherapy, innovative therapies, and even revolutionary strides toward cures for certain types of cancer. Yet, cancer is not a single disease, and there likely will never be a singular "cure," since each requires unique solutions.

It is this reality that has driven our mission here at The Ribbon Initiative: to raise awareness and resources for researchers working tirelessly in the development of treatments for all cancers, including the oft-neglected ones. This is the effort that will banish the suffering brought on by cancer, and it is one that will require us all together, united, and determined.
